Kyra Minturn

  Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. Her leading role in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick earned the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. After the seventh season Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended on August 13 in 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), teacher and family therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI as the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her dad was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and says she is a member of Passover seders.
